Step Right Up!

Have you ever stopped to think about the threads which make up the fabric of everyday life? How sometimes they feel so perfectly knit together, while at other times they feel more like a tangled web of knots? Every fiber has a source, but what keeps them from completely unraveling? Woven together, these loose ends create a new story. That's the premise for Cirque Us' new show, "Rag Tag: A Circus In Stitches" - and it's certain to put a smile on your face, and a skip in your step. Head to The Sellam Circus School and join this rag-tag group of thread-bare, yarn-spinning characters around the fire as they explore a new patchwork world. You’ll be enthralled with Cirque Us' group of artists as they stitch together a tapestry of talents: From high-flying, knot-tying, gravity defying aerialists, to loopy jugglers, to musicians that pull your heart strings, and comedy that will leave you in stitches.

We are very excited to welcome Cirque Us back to The Sellam Circus School! If you were here last November, you may remember that their shows were sold out - so be sure to get your tickets early. Once again, the Cirque Us cast is setting out to take a brand new, attention-grabbing, top-notch show on the road this June and July. The tour will be returning to twelve different cities and performing a total of 22 shows. The members of this year’s all-star cast have performed on stages around the world, including Circus Smirkus, Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey’s Circus, The Midnight Circus, Flying Gravity Circus, The Piccolini Trio, Laughter League, and Aida Cruises. kick off - at Thompson's Point!

WE'RE BRINGING CIRCUS BACK - TO THOMPSON’S POINT! We're super excited to announce this series of **free to the public** workshops and performances in partnership with our friends at Thompson's Point! Looking for something fun to do this summer? Saturday, June 22nd, from 12pm - 3:00pm, come join us as we kick off our Saturday Spectacular series out on the lawn, and inside the Depot Pavillion! Featuring aerialists and artists of all ages and backgrounds, the Saturday Spectaculars at Thompson’s Point will inspire, with performances by talented artists from across New England - and your very own chance to get hands on in a circus discipline of your choice. Learn to juggle with The Sellam Circus School’s youth troupe – the CircusKids! Try out hula hooping on the lawn at the Point. And, starting at 12 noon and 2 pm, enjoy ambient and roving performances by friends of The Sellam Circus School and the CircusKids Troupe! Plus, each Saturday, a different mini-workshop will be offered; be sure to arrive early to sign up for your chance to learn the fundamentals of circus disciplines such as Aerial Silks, Trapeze, Acrobatics or Lyra.

For the premiere workshop on June 22nd, be sure to get your name on the list and take the free handbalance clinic with none other than Bearded Mann – Chris Gatti! A gifted and sought-after artist and instructor, Chris has both performed for Cirque Du Soleil’s Corteo, and coached on the hit show Volta. His unique style of coaching combines insightful technique, effective drills, and deep philosophy. Back when we were just forming The Sellam Circus School, Sellam had the pleasure of sitting with his old friend and former student, Josh Aviner, and his partner, Lyndsay Magid Aviner, at the headquarters for their exciting new venture: The HIDEAWAY Circus. They talked about his life in traveling circus, as well as his philosophy of coaching, and where they see the industry of circus arts heading.
